Innovation
We can believe that we know where the world should go. But unless we’re in touch with our customers, our model of the world can diverge from reality. There’s no substitute for innovation, of course, but innovation is no substitute for being in touch, either (Steve Ballmer – Microsoft CEO) – – – Innovation by definition will not be accepted at first. It takes repeated attempts, endless demonstrations, monotonous rehearsals before innovation can be accepted and internalized by an organization. Case Studies
Case study research can mean single and multiple case studies, can include quantitative evidence, relies on multiple sources of evidence, and benefits from the prior development of theoretical propositions. Case studies may involve both qualitative and quantitative research methods. Single subject research provides the statistical framework for making inferences from case-study data. Another suggestion is that case study should be defined as a “research strategy”, an empirical inquiry that investigates a phenomenon within its real-life context (Ref – Wikipedia).

“Traf-O-Data” was an initial venture of Bill Gates. The company had only modest success but the experience was instrumental in the creation of Microsoft Corporation a few years later. The very Walt Disney who was the great animator of all times and nominated for 59 Academy Awards also faced difficulties when he was fired from the Kansas City Star because his editor felt he “lacked imagination and had no good ideas”.
